What to expect
32-mile-long federally protected barrier island with 17 communities. No cars on most of the island (except western and eastern ends). Ranger-led programs at Watch Hill, Sailors Haven, and the William Floyd Estate. Talk at Hallock State Park about William Floyd (NY signer of the Declaration of Independence) for USA250. (Rolling: Year-round — monitor the source for specific dates.)
