Mattituck sits at the hinge of the North Fork, the widest point and the one with the deepest agricultural footprint. It's the town with the strawberry festival in June and the fork's main supermarket, which tells you about the year-round vs seasonal balance. The Town of Southold opted out of dispensaries, so adults 21+ pick up at a licensed shop in Riverhead on the way in.
