Jones Beach is Robert Moses' 1929 barrier-beach state park and one of the most visited day-trip beaches in the country, with the Jones Beach Theater pulling a summer concert calendar of arena-scale tours. Because it's state-owned land, New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, which is non-negotiable on the sand, the boardwalk, and the theater grounds. Adults 21+ only. The nearest licensed retail is east of the county line, in the Town of Babylon.
